Depends what type of salon you go to, I live in England but I guess the prices are pretty similar.





If you go to your local professional salon they might be able to do you a good deal, my girlfriend went to one and got her hair bleached and colored for 25 pounds (roughly 50 dollars) and she was there a good while, so not too bad.





If you go to one of the well known about professional salons, they tend to take advantage of their status and bump their prices up, but this doesn't mean they do a better job necessarily!





Look around a bit, ask in a few places and I'm sure you'll get a great deal.





Another alternative is just to get your friend to do it. Get yourself a decent bleach kit. Some decent dye and you'll be all set.
