Need info on how to open a hairdressers/beauty parlour?

My friend and I were having a discussion on opening up a business of our own and we've decided on hairdressing/beauty parlour. The thing is I know how to run a small shop (not a hairdressers) and she knows how to tatoo and cut hair (a couple of yrs exp), but both of us don't know much about anything else in between. Could anybody tell us if we need any permits/certificates or applications that we need to fill in order to achieve our dreams? Buying or leasing a shop already existing is the best way to ensure you meet most regulations. You do require a license to operate the business, and also a license to operate a hairdressing studio.





The tattooing is tricky because 90% of the clientele you want will not be the clientele for your hair studio, and also keep in mind many localities will not issue licenses to operate tattoo studios easily. They see them as not family oriented and attracting a bad crowd.
