At which point on animal crossing do you get the hairdressers?

i have been playing for ages and i am waiting to get the hairdressers, could you tell me at which point it gets built? At which point on animal crossing do you get the hairdressers?
When you buy/sell enough stuff to Tom Nook his shop upgrades. You start off with Nook's Cranny, then Nook n' Go, Nookway, and Nookingtons. Nookingtons is the store with the hairdresser.

NOTE: In order to get Nookingtons you must also have a friend buy something from the Nookway in YOUR town.At which point on animal crossing do you get the hairdressers?
its not about how long you have been playing its how much you do. the hairdresser (when you get one) will be in tom nooks shop when your shop gets upgraded the 4th (and final) time. thats when your hairdresser will be there. she is open whenever the shop is open. and if you want to upgrade the shop quicker then buy more things at tom nooks and the more you buy, the quicker he will upgrade. hope this helps! God bless-livie
That might be your problem if you have not had a friend visit your town. go to Gamefaqs.com to try to get friend codes if you can't get any here.

If you already did that try to sell sell sell. Collect fruit, try to fish, sell shells etc. Do you have any non native fruit? When you do get your friend codes try to get as much fruit that you dont already have and plant them (cutting down existing tree is best way to guarantee the new tree will grow)

I would help you but I don't have my ACWW anymore :(.

If you are talking bout the City Folk AC game then the salon is in the city already.
urmm u have to pay off ur mortgage at nook's store (or just pump money into it) until it upgrades to its final stage. hair dressers are there...

usually there are 3 stages... cant remember

Gents (and Ladies too): How much do you tip (if at all) at the barber shop or hairdressers?

Is it a set amount or a percentage of how much the hair cut costs?Gents (and Ladies too): How much do you tip (if at all) at the barber shop or hairdressers?
I agree with Alyssa. If you are pleased with the results, tip them 15-20%. I also tip the shampoo girl which are usually students entering the field. I tip the girl at Kelly Teggin's in Knaresborough fairly well because her shampoo/massages are so good, they put you to sleep!

I just tipped my new hairdresser 20% because she cut and curled my hair which saved me tons of time for the evening Christmas party.

Salon owners usually don't accept tips but it's hard to tell who the owner is.

Tipping.org says to tip 10%-15% with some considerations.

You can always tip whatever you have available.Gents (and Ladies too): How much do you tip (if at all) at the barber shop or hairdressers?
I don't tip at all anymore. I think they should get paid what they ask for. It is as simple as that. If they expect fifteen dollars for a hair cut that is enough. However if they really want more they should ask for it. Tipping is expected from many people but I don't see it as necessary.
I tip 20%, try to determine if your hairdresser was polite and did what you asked, then if your pleased tip 15-20% but don't ever not leave a tip, even if it's small, anyone who has a job were they get tips understands that if you don't get a tip, you had an unhappy costumer.
For a ten dollar hair cut I tip 3 bucks. For a 15 dollar haircut I tip 3 or 4. 20 dollar haircut I scream ';rip off'; and go cry like a baby cuz prices are skyrocketing. I'm a guy, so our haircuts are not as fancy usually. If I'm getting simple short haircut don't go giving me a hefty pricetag please
I usually tip about 10 dollars on a 50 dollar charge. I've been a regular customer of his for over 10 years and I also give him a Christmas gift equal to the price of my normal service.
I go to a barbers who are fairly cheap, 8Pounds or so. They are very friendly, and usually do a good job, so I give a 10 pound note, and let them keep the change.
I tip based on service. At my salon, my hairdresser comes in early for me and generally accomodates my schedule so I tip 20%. Otherwise I would not tip more than 10 or 15%.
Generally nothing.

I tipped once at the beauty school because that is the only money they make from doing hair while in school. So i did tip $10.00
My mum is a barber.

The cut costs 拢8 and people usually give her 拢10 and say keep the change.
5-10 dollers
The price of one hair cut.
No more than 拢1 mate.
I tip a couple of pounds after a visit to the hairdressers.

about 鈧? if I have a full colour done
nothing I pay for the job thats it

I only ever use Portuguese salons so I am somewhat bias...
There's British *everything* in the Algarve... in fact, if you want to meet Portuguese or learn about Portugal, it's a good idea to drive further north!

Go to Yahoo image search bar on home page, enter funky bob hair in it and away you go.
Go to ';images'; on your search engine home page, then put in ';bob haircut';. There are plenty to choose from.
    http://chicstyles2000.tripod.com/image69鈥?/a>

How about that? Over on the left side of this page there is an ad about yahoo! health questions or something. There is a picture of Jenny McCarthy who has the bob I think your are talking about but I cannot find a picture of her with it. Maybe you will have more luck.
Go down to your local newagents or supermarket and browse through hair magazines they have there, you'll find plenty of pictures of various hairstyles there.
have a look on google, and when you find a picture you like, then just right click and save the picture and print it out..

Anyone know a decent guys and girls alternative hairdressers in Croydon?

a pretty specific place i know, or somewhere around that area. but i mean less of a split end clean up and more of an edgy punky/sceney place? your help is very much appreciated (:Anyone know a decent guys and girls alternative hairdressers in Croydon?
    Go to tooting or mitcham

get the high street 264-bus no.

I鈥檓 too scared to walk into the hairdressers alone and get my hair cut!?

I dont know what it is but I really dont want to go in there alone tommorow. I really need some confidence! Can anybody give me advice? I know it sounds stupid but I HATE going somewhere alone.I鈥檓 too scared to walk into the hairdressers alone and get my hair cut!?
You've just got to confront your fears and tell yourself to stop being silly. You must inside realise that there is nothing to be frightened. Just consider what it is your are frightened of, and then imagine that it is insignificant and trival, and pretty soon it will be.

Simply take the plunge, and get out there.I鈥檓 too scared to walk into the hairdressers alone and get my hair cut!?
It sounds as though you are suffering from anxiety and maybe panic disorder. I used to suffer from this and was scared of going to the hairdressers and doing other stuff alone.

If this is seriously affecting your life you should seek help at the doctor. If you think you can face it, force yourself to go.

Don't breathe too hard, anxiety is actually caused by over breathing. Take slow breaths. If you manage to go alone it will gradually get easier and you will forget you were ever scared.
The best way to overcome a fear is to face it. I used to be scared of going to places like the hairdressers alone too. It helps to just suck it up and project confidence. Fake it till you make it! That's what I did and now I'm not afraid to go anywhere.

Good luck with it. Hope it all works out.
I understand what you mean...but the more you go places alone the less daunting it will seem. It's the idle chit chat in hairdressers which I hate, but hairdressers seem to be able to tell when a customer doesn't want to chat %26amp; they just get on with it...there's always music playing so it's not like there's an uncomfortable silence.

    Just do it!
You may be suffering from social anxiety. See your GP for a referral. Sertraline may be prescribed and will turn your life around.
Certainly, I agree with you in spite of the difficulties has not done English grammatical errors.

    Hello from Scarli
at the end of the day, they want you to come in, whether your male/female, short/tall. fat/thin. your paying their wages by having your hair cut. all they want is to get through the day and get paid. so to be honest, they wont even pay much attention to you. your just part of their job. not an inconveniance
Maybe you don't like surprises, the kind you get when you are meeting someone for the first time. Sometimes it is hardest to do something when you are not sure of the outcome. Will you like the hairdresser, what will she/he be like etc.... Going to someone a second time is a lot easier than the first. A key to comfort is to be yourself, and just remember whatever is going to happen it will be okay. You only have to visualize a little bit to see yourself go through the steps of the haircut and then it will happen.

If you are really bothered plan something to do right after like going for a treat (coffee, ice cream...) and think about that during and the time will pass faster.
I'm scared of ghosts as well, take some friends
Just drive there, get out of the car and go in. They are expecting you , I would assume. The sooner you get over this fear, the better your life will be. Independence is great.
I know where your coming from, Ive had panic attacks for 4 years and have been where you are now, Im not saying you have panic attacks, maybe more so social anxiety, either way its not a big problem. Go to your doctor he will help you out.

Why do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?

more ppl believe that its better for ur hair to be wet when ur cutting them.

i've been cutting m own hair for 3 years now

and when i cut them i just wet my brush. so they will be easier to cut, but its not all wet.

    whats ur opinion?

and any hair cutting tips will b appreciated :DWhy do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?
Wet hair is easier to handle than dry hair. Dry hair is harder to hold in position, it slips away to easily. Just remember to cut it a little longer than where you want it when it is wet because wet hair stretches out longer and will shrink up a little when dry.Why do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?
When the hair is wet the hair sticks together during cutting and falls more smoothly than when it is dry. Water weighs the hair down and makes it a little easier to cut more evenly.
because when you've got wet hair it goes to your natural length. if you have curly hair then when you wet it will go to natural length. its difficult to explain! lol :) x
i think it's because when it's wet it all sits at the same length so that it's straight

  • Why do hairdressers charge more to cut a females hair?

Isn't this just sexism? or are they allowed because they are Lady-men?Why do hairdressers charge more to cut a females hair?
i honestly think it's because they know women will pay more for it. my husband won't pay more than $10 for a haircut and he doesn't care where he gets it. if i pay less than $60 I assume it's not a good cut. I know - ridiculous, but society made me believe it!Why do hairdressers charge more to cut a females hair?
It takes a bit longer to do a ladies hair than just a ';short back and sides';!
    Because they are bent.
They charge what their customers are willing to pay.
Because sometimes ladies have long hair and more women will have longer hair than men. Also hairdressers usually take more time and effort with blow drying women's hair.
well, im sure womens hairdressers take a fair ammount of time to do the styles and stuff, personally my number 3 takes five minutes and cost me 5 quid
Well I'll give you the male consultation....'; So what are we doing today?'; '; Short on the back and sides and leave it finger length on top so I can wear it messy if I want.'; ( Cut time...10-15min )

Female consultation...'; So what are we doing today?'; ';jgfkl;h;awu;4hjfieo;ajek;kjfaeijfieo;am鈥?you get what I mean right?'; With women, we must take more time to be sure we are on the same page because what they explain, might not always be what they mean....Women's cuts and styles can take 45 min to an hour depending. Now not always a rule but it is the majority!
    Men= less hair

    women= more hair

They charge more because generally there is more to cut and it takes longer. That is the only reason Ive ever heard from a hair dresser.
more hair to work with. More mess to put up with. LOL!
no because our hair is longer
er i am not sure but i always thought it is because ladies have longer hair, therefore more time is needed to do more things? i dont think it is because of anything else! x
Well...look at it like this. If you had to dig a whole 1 foot long....you would charge one price...but if you had to dig a whole 4 foot long..you would charge extra right? Would you charge the same price for more work needed done? Probably not. Same with women's hair. Usually most hair salons set it at one price for hair above the shoulders..and a different price for below the shoulders.
    more of it?
Because they have to listen to them gripe.
Probably because we are more picking about our hair than men are!
Ladies will usually have longer hair, better style more color more in demand and want a perfect result. Business outlooks their target market are females so if they raise their prices higher for females they know that they will make more profit as if the prices were to be the same for men they wouldn't make much. Hey us girls just want the best cut, color, service and all the inbetweens that's why. No its not sexism .
Because I sit down and say ';high %26amp; tight';. About 7 minutes later, I'm outta there for $7 and a $2 tiip.
there is more of it normally
usually the girls are more picky about there hair they dont just brush it like you GUYS do we have to make sumthin out of it so the girls usually ask for extra things thats probably why the prices are higher
More time and effort i reckon
because we have longer hair and many complicted haircuts to choose from!
Takes longer for the woman to make up her mind once she's sitting down
my best friend is a stylist, her shop charges more for womens hair because it is longer, they never want ';just a cut'; it is always cut to look like someone else's(styled), conditioned, blow dryed and styled. whereas mens cuts are pretty basic, usually a ';businessman's cut'; or a ';buzz cut';.

hardly ever any ';styling'; to a mans cut, but then again, more and more shops are using ';menu's'; and charging for length of hair, what they want done, how they want it done etc.
most men just need a trim or short back and sides lady,s want restyle it just takes longer
I guess its more hair and styling that = more time = more costs. Some just want a simple trim though maybe thats why i see more barbers doing trims on women now.
I don't know!! I hate it. Al I know is I always only go for a trim and refuse to pay $20 for that...so I just walk in and it's $10. They also have places like are like $12 no matter what gender you are.
I don't like having guys cut my hair, they always get too bossy about it. I think the price difference is due to women s styles being more complicated. It should be that you are paying for the skill level of the hairdresser, but I am not sure that it works out that way in the end
They dont it just depend on the length and what they have done. They have an average ammount for men and a different ammount for women because usually the lengths and what they ask for is different. Female styles are also a bit more difficult to cut. But again that depends.

Women are also willing to pay more but men would groan if they were over charged were as a women would prob go to the most expensive salon to ensure a good cut
because female are never happy with a simple cut... wash, dry, cut, colour, style yadda yadda yadda...

What do hairdressers put in their spray bottle when they are cutting your hair? ?

I know it's not just water because it has a slight smell and makes your hair behave nicely for them. You can never get the same results at home...What do hairdressers put in their spray bottle when they are cutting your hair? ?
I'm a punk rocker, so the typical ingredients found in hairdressers spray bottle may include (but are not limited to) bleedin' Watney's Red Barrel, gob, wee wee, egg whites, and bits of glass. What do hairdressers put in their spray bottle when they are cutting your hair? ?
If I'm cutting somebody's hair it's only water that goes in my spray bottle but all stylist's are different and it could be that they are using a product for smoothing your hair. The next time you visit ask them what is in their spray bottle and they will probaly be more than happy to tell you as it is probably a product from the range that they sell in the salon. Hope I helped! x
My hairdresser usually mixes water and a bit of serum - apparently it stops the serum making your hair greasy but is enough to prevent frizzy etc while they are drying and styling. It also keeps it from drying out while the cut.

    Hope this helps :]

well i recommend a chi. it can straighten afros, so I'm sure it would work on your hair, because i have REALLY curly hair, and i straighten it, and it looks pin straight.

Or if you want to permantely straighten it, I would say get it done at a salon. I don't recommend buying a kit on your own, but if you know what you are doing then you could get it, but remember you cant undo it. I've seen them at walgreens.

    Good luck!

What is your favorite color line? Like what color and the products do you like to use? I really love the tigi products but have never tried there color. I have tried the Paul Mitchell color and love it.

What would you recommended to use everything from the companies chemicals (ex. color) to there styling products?Professional hairdressers only please. What is your favorite color line?
I like Goldwell. Their Topchic (permanent) line was/is undergoing changes as far as removing/re-vamping/adding colors, but I'd still recommend it. I really like their product line with shampoos, conditioners, styling, and finishing tools that are meant for color-treated hair. Their shampoo/conditioner line is called Dual Senses and it smells great. Clients have been going crazy for it!

And, of course, the entire Matrix line is great. I try to recommend something from the Essentials line after chemical services, even if it's just the shine serum. It keeps the hair looking sleek and silky.Professional hairdressers only please. What is your favorite color line?
    I love Redken!!!

For hairdressers or people with bob hairstyles?

Why the inverted bob hairstyle makes your hair hang constantly in front of your face? I have seen quite a few girls out there with an inverted bob hairstyle and they always seem to have the same problem. The hair always hang right in front of their face. And its not a few hair strands. Its like all the hair from the sides hangs forward and pretty much covers the whole face constantly. Both sides. If there is a hairdresser out there who knows, why is this? Is it normal? Is that what always happens when you get that hairstyle? For hairdressers or people with bob hairstyles?
inverted is shorter to longer, the shorter will always push the longer so that is why the front is falling forward. For hairdressers or people with bob hairstyles?
ok .. maybe they dont have a natural part and that could be why it hangs in front or they always have their head down lol .. im a hairstylist

Why do hairdressers always cut more than you want them to?

alright i asked for layers in my hair and they said that they wold only add like small layers to my hair and it would not be any shorter, my hair used to be to my chin now its at my NOSE!!

they said they just cut a little bit of split ends off but dam* they made my hair look horrible. does this ever happen to you?Why do hairdressers always cut more than you want them to?
Yes, but I've learned. No matter what THEY say, YOU are paying for the cut, they work FOR YOU, so you tell them exactly what you want. You can listen to their advice, but make up your own mind.

Also, when they cut wet hair to the spot where they show it....it still shrinks when dried, making it quite shorter.

Just say, HEY I WANT IT LIKE THIS. Put your dam* (you said it first lol) scissors away you butcher and cut it the length I SAY, because I am the one paying you.

GOOD LUCK NEXT TIMEWhy do hairdressers always cut more than you want them to?
A hairstylist once told me she does this because most people don't have accurate concepts of lengths. For example, if you say ';half an inch,'; she thinks you're picturing an inch and just don't realize half an inch is actually quite short. She takes off the inch the first time around so that she doesn't have to keep going back and doing it again. It's a horrible attitude, and I don't know if it's shared by most hairstylists, but this one was popular and reputable.
Yes, till i found a good hairdresser who understands what i want.
That happened when i got my first hair cut. My hair was 18 + inches, I just wanted my ends cut, but they cut off 4 inches.
    i dont know!!! lol

they dont listen i guess..they just do what they want

Female hairdressers - do you use your nails on clients when you massage them when you wash their hair?

if someone asked you to keep massaging for a while cus it felt really nice would you keep doing it?

3 days ago - 23 hours left to answer.Female hairdressers - do you use your nails on clients when you massage them when you wash their hair?
I believe they are taught to shampoo using the ball of the fingers.===Female hairdressers - do you use your nails on clients when you massage them when you wash their hair?
Well, personally, I am not a female hairdresser- but I'd do it on and off and to see what the person likes the best- sometimes if you use your nails, you may scratch a sensitive part of their heads. =/
When I get my hair washed I hate nails scratching my head
scratching injures the scalp using the balls on ones' fingertips is sufficient to stimulate the scalp.
ask them if they want you to. if they dont then just use the ball of your fingers. that what i do.

Ok, this is one for hairdressers. Should a good hairdresser apply heat to blonde highlights?

I always thought applying heat to bleach highlights whilst they were lifting was pretty dangerous. Last time i had mine done the girl said i may have to apply some heat but i stopped her doing this, is it safe to do this or not?Ok, this is one for hairdressers. Should a good hairdresser apply heat to blonde highlights?
It depends on which bleach she is using and how dark your hair is. I use Goldwell bleach and never put it under the dryer. The dryer heat opens the cuticle to the hair and will help speed up bleach if it is not lifting the hair color as fast or as high as it needs to be lifted. Personally, I don't like to use heat, but the bleach I use does the job it is supposed to do!Ok, this is one for hairdressers. Should a good hairdresser apply heat to blonde highlights?
i had bleach hi-lites yesterday %26amp; my hairdresser put me under that hot infra-red (?) gadget to speed up the process...he's a brill hairdresser %26amp; i'm sure if it wasn't safe - he wouldn't do it!
yer as long asits not to much the hairdresser do know wot they are qualifyed and wouldnt intentionaly mess ur hair up
the only difference heat makes is speeding up the time it takes, it doesnt have any adverse effects
I'm ah- this is hard, I am not really a hairdresser.

    Do your best.

  • How much money is it to get your roots died at the hairdressers?

when i got my whole head died blonde it was 100 bucks. how much would it cost to get my roots died ?How much money is it to get your roots died at the hairdressers?
It would greatly depend upon what you really want done. Coloring processes vary as to what can actually be done as to what you want. As a former stylist myself, my advice would be that you would want to talk with yours to see what his/her rates are and how much time would need to be taken to do the job. There have been times when a stylist would an ';act of God'; to perform some services just because of the client. The horror stories I could tell you.How much money is it to get your roots died at the hairdressers?
You would really need to call your hair stylist.

There are generally wide price ranges when it comes to hair care services, obviously it is going to be less expensive in smaller cities, smaller salons etc.

    L
It's 'dyed,' pumpkin. Call your stylist and ask how much a root touch-up is. It will partly depend on how much chair time you need for the color to take.

How much on average do hairdressers charge to bleach hair?

    depends on the salon.

the better ones usually charge about $100 per process.

and bleaching generally takes more than one process. :[How much on average do hairdressers charge to bleach hair?
Depends what type of salon you go to, I live in England but I guess the prices are pretty similar.

If you go to your local professional salon they might be able to do you a good deal, my girlfriend went to one and got her hair bleached and colored for 25 pounds (roughly 50 dollars) and she was there a good while, so not too bad.

If you go to one of the well known about professional salons, they tend to take advantage of their status and bump their prices up, but this doesn't mean they do a better job necessarily!

Look around a bit, ask in a few places and I'm sure you'll get a great deal.

Another alternative is just to get your friend to do it. Get yourself a decent bleach kit. Some decent dye and you'll be all set.

What do i ask the hairdressers for sort of emo hair?

Id like umm sort od emo layered hair? if that mak sense? i dnnoo.. help? What do i ask the hairdressers for sort of emo hair?
just take them a picture of the closest style you want and they will do the rest, its their jobWhat do i ask the hairdressers for sort of emo hair?
You have to tell them exactly how long you want it.

And I think you're looking for a scene haircut.

For a shorter emo haircut, go for longer strands in the front and shorter layers in the back, with some bangs.

For a longer emo haircut, you can tell your hairdresser to give you lots of layers in the back and to thin out your hair a bit, which gives it the higher volume on the top and long thin strands on the bottom.

And by the way, your hair won't look extremely emo (if that's what you're afraid of) unless you tease it until it reaches the sky. :]

    Hope I helped!

Hi! I am looking at getting hair extensions, is there any hairdressers who can explain the whole process?

I had an appointment with a stytlist and walked away so confused about all the options she gave me. Are there any hairdressers or ladies who have had them done who can explain it? The stylist was talking about the Cinderella glue-in or taping but I'm concerned this will wreck my natural hair. All I need the extensions for is the length and am looking long term. What would you suggest?? Any answers with opinions are highly appreciated! Thanks!Hi! I am looking at getting hair extensions, is there any hairdressers who can explain the whole process?
http://www.salonhair.com.au/Articles.asp?ID=124Hi! I am looking at getting hair extensions, is there any hairdressers who can explain the whole process?
I am not a big fan of Cinderella hair extensions. There are better hair extensions brands. Best thing to do is find a good hair extensions salon in your area, and get a free hair consultation, and have them go over your hair extensions goals.

What can i do to get a job in a hairdressers?

i am currently doing an evening course in hairdressing nvq2

i really enjoy what i do and i want to get a job in the industry.

i have been told that i will past the course quicker if i got a trainee/junior job in a salon.

the problem is my age as i am 24. all the salons i have asked at say they only take on school leavers so they can pay them a training wage.

    what should i do?

i need more experience and as im unemployed a training wage would be more than what i get on jsa so i would be happy to get one. What can i do to get a job in a hairdressers?
Firstly i would ask your tutors to help you find a salon willing to take you on, i was told this when i was learning the trade but i chose to experiment on friends and family and gain experience that way.I was 34! It is not vital that you get a trainee job though as its in the colleges best interest to get you through the course, You will qualify im sure and then you will get the jobs in the salons no problem as you have the grades.. If not go mobile like me and work your way up by friends and family showing off their hair and passing on your cards. Dont be scared of experimenting a bit and get insurance, this isnt expensive and will cover you for all aspects of a hairdressing career. Sorry for babbling on and good luckWhat can i do to get a job in a hairdressers?
If you arrange an adult guidance interview (free) at your local careers centre (Connexions) they'll advise you and possibly use their training contacts to do something for you. You will be surprised at how helpful they can be. Good luck.
You could grovel and sweep the floors for a while and eventually get a promotion.

I just went to get my hair cut and noticed a sign saying that you could get 20% student discount with an NUS card. I have an NUS card and asked for a discount and was told that that offer only applies to females (because of higher prices for women) - isn't that illegal? Is it not sexist to say that women can have a NUS discount in a hairdressers and men cannot?
It depends on the wording, if they say on certain treatments that are female orientated then technically you should be able to go for these treatments and get your discount but would you want to?

If it clearly just says 20% discount and doesn't say terms and conditions apply ( which need to specifiy anything other than just gender) then you should be entitled.

It does seem to be sexual discrimination which is illegal. Is it not sexist to say that women can have a NUS discount in a hairdressers and men cannot?
    Yes that is illegal.
    Absolutely! You should challenge that.
Yes, threaten to sue them either after they have cut your hair. Take a photograph of the sign with your phone.
Yes - sex discrimination without a doubt. Definately illegal.
Its false advertising which is illegal not sure the procedure around it they should mark somewhere that its conditional upon a female cut/ full priced cut. Sexiest I'm not sure because males with long hair have to get a female cut its only called female cut for convenience more than anything else. They should of offered you the discount any goof business would.
It is not illegal to offer discounts on higher price haircuts.

I would tell the owner that he or she is flirting with sexist policies and should re-word the ad to indicate the higher prices, not the gender.

In any case, you're going to find all kinds of sexism with respect to clothing, makeup, jewlry, etc.

Consider that women's pants come in a single size and mens come in waist by inseam.

This is historically because it used to be that the only thing a woman used was waist, since it really didn't matter all that much where the skirt line fell.

Of course many women wear pants now and have just as much if not more variation between inseam and waist as men do - but we're stuck with one number.

';We shall overcome';? Probably not ... at least, probably not in my lifetime.

Women pay far more for day-to-day clothing, makeup/skin care and yes, hair care than men do - so I don't think you're going to get much sympathy.
That is totally and utterly illegal. They cannot provide a special offer like that purely of the basis of gender. That kind of thing is covered by discrimination legislation.
    I would imagine so.

How about approaching the local Trading Standards Authority - to say nothing of speaking to the local NUS representative.

    Sash.
    Yes. It is.

Can i have my coloured at a local hairdressers or should do it @ home?

I have tried dying my hair red once at home using a red hair packet and followed instructions carefully. When i got my results, i still seem to have black hair not red. Why? Which colour should i go for if i got black hair! I always wanted 2 dye my hair! Can i have my coloured at a local hairdressers or should do it @ home?
You cannot go from black hair to a lighter color without bleaching, and unless you go to a salon, you SHOULD NOT bleach your black hair at home! It can come out orange, or stripped, etc. In other words, there will be no good outcome.

There was no agent in the red dye that would lighten your hair before depositing the color.

Go to the salon and get a consultation. She'll tell you how much it will cost to get your hair to that color, how much work it will be to keep up, etc. It's going to be hard for you to keep up red hair on naturally black hair, because when your roots grow in, you'll have to have them bleached and re-colored again, meaning you can NEVER do it at home unless you yourself are a beautician. Can i have my coloured at a local hairdressers or should do it @ home?
if you had black dye on your hair then thats why the red didnt work, if your hair is coloured i strongly reccomend a proffessional. i work in a salon and see too many disasters all the time, believe me, its worth the money
I am a hair dresser, this is what you call a corrective color!

because of the fact you happen to have black!

If you go to a salon this is what thier going to do!

firstly your going to have it bleached, if you have damaged hair there going to use a bleach cap, and your going to keep comming in to have those done untill you reach a color in which the red of your choice is!

    to do it your self!

now let talk the color red you want if you want a deep red, you wont have to bleach your hair so much, untill you reach a dark to medium blonde

    then use a filler

    and the color red

If you want a brighter red, your going to have to go platinum blonde, the lightest blonde

    then you need a filler

and to dye your hair the fiery red color of your choice!

by the way a filler is something you buy at a beauty supply, this makes your hair all one color for your ending results as a red head!

another tip if bleaching your self use true blue, and a level 5 processer, for black hair it will take a bout 5 times to reach light blonde

    good luck!
If you have asian / oriental hair you have to strip it of colour first using a peroxide then dye the colour on top.
haiddresses because they know what there doing im not saying u dont im just saying most of your trust should be for them after all it is there profession
if you're not sure what you are doing, go to the hairdressers. that's definitely what i'd do.
i dye my hair alot at home, if you want to go to a lighter color you have to lighten it first (bleach it) but theres certin color (brands) that are made for ppl with dark hair to go to a lighter hair color. i use to work at walgreens so i know they have/had them. id check there. the only time i get my hair prfecionaly done is when i want highlights.
Hair dresser. They are they for that and have gone through college learning how to. Plus it easier and they can see what they are doing.
if you have a friend thats good at it

    do it at home

it is like 10 times cheaper and looks fine
Do it at the hairdressers....u dont wnt it 2 go rong @home. Y not try brunette or a lite brown
If you have really dark hair, you might have to bleach it out first. Also, if you have to go with a color a shade or two lighter than your own if your hair is super dark. Just make sure you go to a good hair dresser. I have dark hair and tried to color it on my own and had the same result as you. But then I went to a hair dresser and my hair was my normal color on the bottom, a lighter brown int he middle, and a bright red at the roots, so go somewhere reputable!
Dont do it at home unless you know what you are doing or you know someone who does!
If i was you i would go to a hair dresser to get your hair done becasue if it gose wrong they have to fix it free of charge but if you do it urselve then you will have to keep buying hair dye until you find the right colour. Before you pay for a dye look on the back of the packet or box to make sure it will cover up black hair or work on black hair
    Hi!

The darker your hair is, its going to need lots of dye and patience to get the red you want. Sure you can achieve this on your own. First you must dye in steps.

Go buy a blonde dye kit. Yes I said Blonde (smile)

With dark hair a lighter hue must be given to let the Red show up.

Second go with a lighter, bleach blond. Your hair will have red tones, yet its not yet finished.

Now go for a light red dye.

After this last step, dye your hair the Red youve chosen, it should come out just as youve planned and wanted.

So 2 dyes of Blonde %26amp; Bleach blonde

1 dye of light red, and the Red you want.

This may take time on your part. Make sure you dye with a new color, once a day. So in this case, it will take about 4 days to finish. Be patient. Too fast and all in one day can damage your hair, and color.

If you dont want to chance this, and arent comfortable, then go get it dyed perfessionaly.
Do-it-yourself hair dyes can't actually lighten your hair, only put another colour on top of it so if you've got black hair those dyes won't do anything for you.

You either need to pre-lighten your hair (you can get packs of pre-lightener from the supermarket or Boots or somewhere like that) and then use the colour you wanted the next day, or you could go to a salon and have it done the same day.

I've got dark hair and I also used to dye it red, if you want a reliable result that's going to look natural you really need a professional.
i would do it @ home, try a medium brown. maybe last time u didn't keep it on long enough

Question to all hairdressers about haircut?

Ok I have long thin asian hair so I know I need to get it cut shorter. Plus its summer. I have a square/round face with a long neck. I want my length to be medium cut and look thicker. and since im off to college I want a sophisticated look. Any suggestions?Question to all hairdressers about haircut?
Ok. It's very suitable for your face and neck to cut your hair in layers and let the layers around your face line, come to your face and cheeks and cover your square/round part of the cheen, jaws and long neck. You sure look so sexy and up to date with this style and your hair will look thicker.

The hair length in this style is up to you, short or long, it's the best model suites most of the young women!Question to all hairdressers about haircut?
This haircut is beautiful, sophisticated, and gives you some volume. The slightly longer hairs show of a beautiful long neck without making it look weird. It also fits a round face.

    http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/5/Y/f/asia鈥?/a>

This haircut is similar to the other, but looks a little more rock.

    http://www.se.pg.com/images/news/060918s鈥?/a>

Straight bangs make your face look shorter, while side bangs or layered bangs flatters a round face.

A medium length bob would probably look great on you, like the one Mrs Beckham has http://www.celebrity-gossip.net/images/t鈥?/a>

Just don't make it to short, make sure it ends about an inch below your face, or your face will look very small and round.

Good luck with your hair and college!

Edit: The first person who answered suggested layers around your face. I dont suggest that, it will make a round face look rounder. If thats what you want to avoid layers are not a good idea.

Need info on how to open a hairdressers/beauty parlour?

My friend and I were having a discussion on opening up a business of our own and we've decided on hairdressing/beauty parlour. The thing is I know how to run a small shop (not a hairdressers) and she knows how to tatoo and cut hair (a couple of yrs exp), but both of us don't know much about anything else in between. Could anybody tell us if we need any permits/certificates or applications that we need to fill in order to achieve our dreams? Any info would be gratefully appreciated.Need info on how to open a hairdressers/beauty parlour?
Buying or leasing a shop already existing is the best way to ensure you meet most regulations. You do require a license to operate the business, and also a license to operate a hairdressing studio.

The tattooing is tricky because 90% of the clientele you want will not be the clientele for your hair studio, and also keep in mind many localities will not issue licenses to operate tattoo studios easily. They see them as not family oriented and attracting a bad crowd.

I would sit down with the folks at the SBA (small business assoc.) because they actually have mentoring programs for just your situation, and they will help you in every step of the way.Need info on how to open a hairdressers/beauty parlour?
have a chat with your local council
speak to your local council and citizes advice about insurance and licenses that are required as they will be able to tell you exactly what you need

Does anyone else hate going to the hairdressers?

I find the whole process of going to the hairdressers tedious. You have people trying to ask you a load of questions you don't want to answer, you then have to lay your head in an uncomfortable sink for ages while someone stalls time by massaging your head and then whenever i try to read a magazine the hairdresser keeps on yanking my head up again, so i end up having to listen to various peoples' life story.

All of my friends love gong so i was wondering if anyone else hates it.Does anyone else hate going to the hairdressers?
i do hate it but that's because my hairdresser says i need to change my ';image'; i mean i no she's a professional but i like my hair and don't appreciate her telling me i should change it. I no what you mean by trying to read a magazine. After a while my hairdresser just takes it off me. I'm like whats that about? i like to read whilst I'm having my hair done because it takes my mind off the horrendous thought of her changing my hair style without telling me. So i tend not to look.Does anyone else hate going to the hairdressers?
yes - i agree - i dont like the hairdressers either, i find it boring and i don't really like the guy that does my hair, but he does make a nice job of it.
I love it, I think you need to relax more and enjoy your time there more often. They're there to make you look good, not necessarily torture you.
    Yeah, me too.

I take a picture in, never come out looking like that.

They ask me, do i want it shorter than the style..( if i did, i wouldn't have fetched the damn picture in)

And..I always panic that they'll chop too much off, or dye it the wrong colour or something !! arrrgghhh

    So, you're not alone sweetie

    x
I love it, a couple of hours to myself, no kids, adult conversation, great.
I loooooooooooove going to the hairdressers. The thing for me, though, is finding one who will listen to me and do what I ask for, and do it well.

I love the whole experience, especially the washing part. I love having my scalp massaged, and they do a fantastic job of it. If I could sleep through the experience, I would.
I don't hate it, but I'd rather not do it. I only go once or twice a year and I dread it each time.
it has to be done so try and find one were you get on with the lady and she knows what you like or wash your own hair before you get there they dont mind just tell them. take a ipod
Noooo, You haven't found the right hairdresser yet. Once you do you'll look and feel the difference. It's a tedious process, trying to find a good fit like a treasured pair of jeans.

I found one that I let have total artistic control with..I used to be a 'CONTROL' freak when it came to my hair, but after the compliments I got and still get...people stop me and ask me where I go. *Big Smile*

I try to get in every 6-8 weeks at least for a trim. AND, love to stay in style with latest look. But, overall you should feel comfortable going, look forward to it and feel great after.

    Hope that helps : )

If you see someone--stop and ask where they go. Ask friends..co-workers..
haha yes i hate it when hairdressers try and makes you uncomfortable
I hate it, having to part with £8 every two months.
i hate going because i hate my hair getting shorter!!

lol.. im like, go over an inch and ill scream..!

lol.. i asked for 2 inch cut off about 3 years ago and she did it wonky and someone else came along and took another 5 inch off, i was gutted, it was down to my bum until that moment!! its slowly growing back though!
Well the poor guy has to have your head up so he can get an even cut. If you hate it so much you should consider a style that has little maintanence. You know natural color and not cut. Just wear it straight or in a pony tail!
i dont mind..maybe if you stick to one hairdresser you like and shop you like..then maybe you wont hate it so much ive had my same hairdresser for years now and i consider her as a freind now i guess u can say ... we can talk about anything if we want or just keep quiet while she does my hair..and since ive been with her for so long all the other dressers are cool with me too we just talk about anything...not life stories either..stuff like news and whats going on ect... When you find that one perfect dresser then youll love going..especially when youre always getting compliments and when ppl ask who does your hair
I hate it and have not gone in over a year I cut my own.
I do, in the past 10 yrs I've gone once. I've had horrible service prior to that so I trim or cut my own hair half the time I do a better job than they do. I paid $100 for a dye job once after I had my first child and it faded within 2 wks. I end up doing my own coloring since then.

I also agree with one of the poster up above me about the mirror--lol, I do the same thing I look like an ugly alien, not sure if it's the lighting or what, but I hate looking in the salon mirrors!
I hate it for the exact same reasons as you, with the added reason that you have to stare at your face in that mirror for like an hour, I end up thinking 'I'm really ugly' by the time its over! I try not to look and put my head down but then its yanked back up again. UGH!
    yack i just hate it
I hate it too, youre right it is tedious.I dont want to sit and listen to people I dont know talking about things Im not interested in,I just feel like screaming at them to hurry up and get on with it so I can get out of there. xx
I love going to the hairdressers and i am going with my friend this thursday and i can not wait coz my hair is so messy and it needs cutting. but you are right the people do tell everyone there life stories and they say it really loudly. But when you think about it you are not there for very long and once it is done you don't go for a few months.
Well don't bother going then. duh

Hairdressers! If I complete nvq 1 and 2 and get a job in a salon would I start by assisting the hairdressers?

and making tea or would I get straight in and have my own clients? Also im 29 now so am I likely to get taken on when I finish? and lastly any idea what the salary is at that level? this will be much apreciated! nvq 2 would surley be qualified enough?Hairdressers! If I complete nvq 1 and 2 and get a job in a salon would I start by assisting the hairdressers?
I'm not too sure. I'm currently a shampoo girl and the girls at the salon said if I were going to be a stylist, they'd take me right away, no questions asked. However, I'm going to school for communications and not interested in that. I guess if things fall through that's where I'll wind up going though.

I'm not too sure in your case though, since you're not already involved in some kind of salon in any way.Hairdressers! If I complete nvq 1 and 2 and get a job in a salon would I start by assisting the hairdressers?
hiya there, i have a lot of friends that are hairdressers and im away to start my NVQ1,many of my friends have told me that even after finishing NVQ1+2 when they started work in a salon they were contantly learning new things and they still are,i think if you are confident that you can have your own clients then you will,im 27 and the feedback i got from friends that own there own salons is that mature students are seen as being more reliable,as for the salary i really think it depends on which part of the country you are in and also if its a large salon or a small salon you work in,i wish you all the best for your future in hairdressing.
    yes
I have been hairdressing for many a year and normally you would do day release to college and work the rest of week in salon, you may also do full time at college ,get your nvq2 and above then you would join in salon life as a junior stylist for a year where you would build up a client base, pay and commision vary per salon from basic wage up to 拢9-拢10 a hour ,hope this may help.

Can hairdressers get rid split ends without chopping hair off?

I have quite a few split ends at the moment and I need a trim.

I don't want to get my hair chopped off though. Can the hairdresser snip them all off or something rather than chop my hair off?!!

How would I explain this to the hairdresser using ';hairdressing'; terms?!

    Thanks!

xCan hairdressers get rid split ends without chopping hair off?
try using a hair mask or a intensive conditioner first, you may find that might do the trick, however its probably best to get them trimmed. Ask the hairdresser to trim about ONE inch of the bottom, all around. Make sure you keep an eye on what they're doing though, usually you'll ask for one inch off and they cut off four 卢卢

Good Luck! :) xCan hairdressers get rid split ends without chopping hair off?
Of course they can! It depends on your definition of ';chopped off,'; if you have very short hair then getting rid of the split ends would requite cutting off most of it.

I guess just tell the hairdresser to get rid of the split ends, while still keeping the length. Last time I got a haircut, I asked to keep the length and she did a very good job of cutting of a very small amount.
kind of m not really u have to chop it off !

they CAN use products that will make them less noticable , and actually not ';split ends'; ,

but that's only temporary , and would make things worse

    so yea

    CHOPP !

    :)
If you get a half inch trim it would really help AND make your hair grow a bit faster, but if not try using dove repair conditioner and shampoo, it really works I've used it before

Does hairdressers have to be licensed to do facials and microdermabrasion?

or as long as they are licensed to be a hairdresser, they can also do those services too???Does hairdressers have to be licensed to do facials and microdermabrasion?
aaesthetics falls under a cosmetology license.

you can also get only an esthetics license. or only a nail tech license.

aestheticians cannot do hair; cosmetologists can do aesthetics.

nail techs cannot do esthetics or hair, but cosmetologists can do all of the above.

i would not let anyone who has not at least had a class on micro do mine.

and check out the credentials of the school. some cosmetology schools don't teach how to wax or how to do facials. (cosmetology training center in fredericksburg, va doesn't teach their students how to wax or do facials or how to do 'white people' hair) not all schools are the same.Does hairdressers have to be licensed to do facials and microdermabrasion?
No not unless they have a certification in facials or microdermabrasions. I know of a lady who is a cosmetologist and she got certified to give microdermabrasions but shes not an esthetician
U are talking about 2 difference licence. Esthetician licence and hairdressers license!

I thinking about getting my hair thinned out, how exactly do the hairdressers do this?

I want my hair thinned out but my concerns are:

How much thinner will it be? My hair is super duper thick it needs to be ALOT thinner.

Will I still be able to do the same hairstyles? (curls, braids, ponytail, ect.)

Did any of you get your hair thinned out? How much thinner was your hair and did it look okay?I thinking about getting my hair thinned out, how exactly do the hairdressers do this?
it wont be too much thinner, only a little.

You will definetly be able to do the same hairstyles.

I got my hair thinned out and it made a difference, but its not like its a HUGE difference. my hair looked perfectly fine, it looks almost exactly the same but you can see a little difference.

    answer mine please

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>I thinking about getting my hair thinned out, how exactly do the hairdressers do this?
They'll put layers in it and it will look quite a lot thinner, but it will still be thick.
They use a razor or thinning scissors and can thin it as much as they think it needs. They won't overdo it.
He/she will use thinning shears. This will help quite a bit, and you will still have your style.

Hairdressers in Mornington Peninsula area of Victoria, Australia who specializes in doing black womens hair?

Picture an African with frizzy hair - that's me! I have had bad experience going to three hairsaloons in the vicinity where the hairdressers do not know how to 'relax' my type of hair resulting in my hair falling off or not enough relaxing creme/lotion to do the job right. Does anyone know of any hair saloon or a perhaps stay at home mum who knows how to take of my type of hair?Hairdressers in Mornington Peninsula area of Victoria, Australia who specializes in doing black womens hair?
Most places that do extensions do african hair.

Does the current economic situation stop you from going from the hairdressers? UK only?

Is all the panic about the credit crunch in the UK making you go to the hairdresser less to save money? or do maybe go more or splash out on it more to cheer you up? opinions please.Does the current economic situation stop you from going from the hairdressers? UK only?
i have no choice but to go... i have relaxed hair which is totally unmanageable if left to grow out... but if i didnt have such awkward hair to deal with i wouldn't bother going!Does the current economic situation stop you from going from the hairdressers? UK only?
I have honestly never paid to get my hair done at a hairdressers, they charge far too much money for what they do.

My mama goes to cheer herself up, she spends bloody hours in there, its like some kinda therapy or something.

I have a hairdressers in my town that has trainees doing cuts for free, and they are supervised constantly so you won't get a dodgy cut, and colleges are good to save money too. They have to practise on someone....

I think this credit crunch thing is all fuss about nothin, we spend so much money on unnecessary stuff, and brand name products, its all such a waste.

If you are that hard up you shouldn't waste your money on things like hair

No it don't stop me, I plan to go the week before Christmas. But London hairdressers can be over priced. I went to some stuck up one on Oxford Circus 拢65 a cut an blow, felt like I didn't even had a hair cut after I still had split ends.

I don't go often because I am trying to grow my hair.
I have cut back on my usual trims, which is why I currently look like a 'before' shot for a frizz-ease advert!

I need a colour, but cant justify the 拢40, so will have to stay frizzy and grey for the time being!
Ive noticed many barbers are now trimming ladies hair probably as salons are too expenzive for a simple trim
I have actually had a family friend cut my hair the past 2 times and in exchange I have done a few errands. It has saved me 拢75!!! Xx
I haven't been in over a year as I've found better things to do with the cash. Now, I'm impoverished and just can't afford it! Would love to go but can't :(

HAIRDRESSERS? my hair is only dirty kinda faded with some highlights blonde what should i dooo?

i was born blonde but i started getting highlights about 4 years ago but its not really working asweel as id like it to it only looks good in the summer sometimes i have blue eyes and an oval shaped face???? what should i dooo?HAIRDRESSERS? my hair is only dirty kinda faded with some highlights blonde what should i dooo?
Ask for some more highlights. Get a ';blended'; look of different blondes. You could either warm or cool toned, but most blue eyed people are cool. I suggest cool tones of blonde (no necessarily ash but those can work as well), champagnes etc. Golden blondes could work but it really depends on your skin. Some can look way too fake and brassy and wash you out.

For oval shaped face...there are various short hairstyles you can have, layers work well too

How much does it cost roughly at the hairdressers?

im saving up to get my hair dyed at my hairdressers

i want it stripped of previous Dye first

so basicly i want my hair stripped+Dyed+cut+blowdryed and i would like to know about how much it will roughly cost? xo. How much does it cost roughly at the hairdressers?
That rather depends on which hairdressers in which city and in which country you are planning to have your hair faffed about with. How much does it cost roughly at the hairdressers?
At a decent, but not robbing, hairdressers, you would expect to pay about 拢80 to 拢100. I doubt you'll get it done cheaper, but there are plenty places that will charge you loads more than that, so make sure you get a few quotes before deciding where to go
It will vary so much depending where you go. Call or go into a few hairdressers, explain what you want and ask how much it would cost.
well, i just had my hair cut. i had it cut (inch off), and layered and it cost 拢30!!

so, for what you want it's probably more..about 拢70-80??

    maybe even 拢100!

why does it cost so much to have it done!!!!!

    x
Why don't you just phone around at different salons and they'll be able to give you the prices. That way you'll know what the average price is and you won't get ripped off.
mines cost 130. depends where u go. but they did a fabulous job.

How are the hairdressers at ULTA?

i think i might want to try getting my hair cut there.

I always go to this different salon, but i'd like to know how their hair dressers are.How are the hairdressers at ULTA?
i work at ulta as a makeup artist and makeup consultant and the hairdressers are amazing. the products are great and everything is very clean and high quality. but the quality has a price but they have pretty good deals for certain things like coloring and stuff. they are having a special where you can get a color glaze for free and if you dont want to color your hair you can get a clear shine glaze for free. if you dont want to pay for quality than you would probably go to a great clips or something with people that arent very experienced. i have my hair cut and colored at ulta all the time and i would recommend it to everyone. good luck i hope this helps. :)How are the hairdressers at ULTA?
they overcharge...my boyfriend went and got his hair cut there for $30!!! a mens haircut!

I had my hair dyed yesterday by hairdressers, but it is soo blonde way to blonde for my face?

i am going to purchase a brown colour to put over top, what sort of brown do u think i need, i dont want my hair to turn ginger, and i dont want it to dark.

Ne ideas?I had my hair dyed yesterday by hairdressers, but it is soo blonde way to blonde for my face?
Please don't do this, go back to the hairdresser that did your hair and let the salon correct their mistake. A reputable salon will do this for free. If you try this at home your hair could turn green as it needs to be pre-pigmentated first.I had my hair dyed yesterday by hairdressers, but it is soo blonde way to blonde for my face?
It depends on how dark you're willing to go. But the blonde is eventually gonna bleed through the brown, resulting in you having to redye or it may look green if you used cheap dye. So my best suggest is wait a few days so it won't damage your hair right away meanwhile treat it with some sort of good conditioners, and use a little darker color than you were planning incase the blonde bleeds through pretty bad or the brown dye doesn't stick as good.

I say try from a medium brown to a chocolate brown, but I think the color that appeals most to your taste is medium brown.
One you can have dark blonde low lights put in your hair it will put the color back in your face plus it will still look like you just had it highlighted or call that hair dresser and tell her that it's to light and that your face look washed out and ask if thy could put some low lights of dark Blondie in it. Or if you still want to dye it then I would dye it a light dark blonde. I hope this helps
if you want it a dark blonde just get a blonde toner!

if you want it more brown than blonde, get an ash blonde toner

    your hair shouldnt turn ginger!

and dont go to dark with the toner, because if its still too light you can use another toner with little damage.if its too dark you wll damage your hair tring to lighten it

You could try going back to the salon and making them fix it, you paid for your hair to be the way they want it and they messed up. Worth a shot, and if no luck there then stop by the shop and get some dark blonde dye! Remember summers approaching, and super blonde is nice then, makes it look like youve been on holiday and the suns dyed your hair!

    Good Luck!
please dont put brown color over your blonde hair it will turn green! i promise it will have a greenish cast to it. You should go back to the salon and have them put brown lo-lites in your hair to brake up the blonde ask for heavier ones around your face where you think its to light.
i'd put a darker blonde Semi over the top and not brown. Also avoid colurs with 7 in the code this means it will have redish tones in them and would get the gingery colour,

Try a ashy blonde/brown it should tone it down (be careful though if your hairs been bleached)
do not attempt that yourself. go back to the salon and tell them you are not happy. they will be glad to correct it for you. show them a pic of the exact color you want it. they will probably do it for nothing or close to it. i always took care of my clients if the werent happy for free.
dont get a brown... get an ash blond. it will still be a little darker but if you go brown it will eventually fade... also give it a little time get a deep conditioner... and try to change up your makeup style to see if you can get it to look better while your hair recovers from going blond
Seriously don't do it yourself now. Return to the hairdressers and they should fix it. At the very least you need to leave your hair a while before it is dyed again.
Either go back to the same hairdressers or a different one - don't experiment at home with it. They can put a colour toner in it that makes it go darker. Though usually my hair colour needs a day or two to 'calm' down so if it's not that bad wait a few days...
DONT DO IT!!!! It will go orange. This is because when you had your hair bleached, they stripped out all the dark pigment in your hair. When you go to dye it darker there is no pigment for the dye to attach to.

You have to go back to the hair dresser so they can do it in stages.
You should return and have them put a toner on it, or change the colour free of charge if you're not happy with it. Please don't attempt to do it yourself as putting additional colour over the top will give unpredictable results.
Go back to your hairdressers and get them to fix it for you, tampering with a colour at this early stage could damage your hair or result in a colour you really don't like!
Why didn't you tell the hairdresser you weren't happy? Don't try to fix it yourself, go back and see them and ask them to correct it.
it would be a better idea to go to a different hairdresser and see what they can do for you. DIY hair dye is usually disastrous
Hey the best way is to go to your nearest beauty shop and ask them to sugest you as we havent seen you neither know your complexion. It does play a very important role to chose your hair color!
i would consult a hairdresser to be sure.
    Well, I would recommend brunette.

Hope I helped! Have a rainbow day!
What area are you from? you should go back to the hairdresser's and tell them

Why do hairdressers have such a hard on for salon shampoo?

I mean if I want to wash my hair with dish soap its my perogative. Why do hairdressers have such a hard on for salon shampoo?
Haha. My Perogative. I believe thats a song by Britney Spears. Why do hairdressers have such a hard on for salon shampoo?
They just want to get more profit.. and if the product is really good sometimes they just want people to discover it and get it out there cause it can really be better but if you don't want to buy any of it just don't and ignore them I guess
Well , depending on what Salon and what Stylist you are dealing with...the reason any good Stylist would want you to use a Salon Shampoo is because they have a lower PH that would be more compatible with chemical services that they would offer and overall Salon Shampoo's are just alot safer and milder on the hair. Hope this helps.
They make more money if they sell you the products that you carry. Just use what you feel comfortable using and can afford. Salon products are really expensive.

Why do hairdressers always cut more hair than asked?

I have long hair and I say trim just a little and they cut about 3 inches...why?Why do hairdressers always cut more hair than asked?
No they should not! say exactoly how much a littel trim is if it is 1/2 and inch say half an inch. they may say you need about 1 1/2 inches to get the split ends off or something like that;. But they must do as you ask as you are paying.

Suggest that you change your hairdresser. Why do hairdressers always cut more hair than asked?
This doesn't pertain to ALL hairdressers, though, i do agree that many I have come across in my lifetime do do this. Perhaps they believe you should have more off.. or maybe they see splittage and damage further up the shaft than you see. I also feel that people are off base with eachother when it comes to measurement... what one person percieves as an inch, another person may not. An inch is an inch and both hairdressers and clients need to familiarize themselves with just how much an inch exactly is to prevent situations like yours. On most combs, there are inch measurements.

So just to keep on par with their clients... maybe hairdressers should use the little ruler on their combs more and let their client be aware of just how much they truly are taking off.
Because, You ether have alot of Dead ends....or The reason(Which is probley it.) is because they cut hair wet, Meaning your hair stretches, and it will go back to it's original shape once cut and dried, making it shorter then what you ask...
Maybe their definition of a ';little'; is different than yours? Be more specific of what you want. :) I found that out the hard way ..

Anyway, since you didn't specify they're just going to cut off all the dead ends and everything.
yes I know that always happens!

    answer mine please:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
They were probably cutting all the dead ends off. But three inches is a lot. Get a new hairdresser.
they either are careless or they are just cutting the dead hair with the split ends off
ya they always do cuz they cut off the dead hair too!
i hate when that happens to me especially on my bangs!!

What Hairdressers are cheap and good?

Hi what hairdressers are good and cheap for haircuts and perms? What about salons like Super Cuts, Family Style (Walmart), Great Clips? Anyone knows good places in Indianapolis?

Thanks in advance! What Hairdressers are cheap and good?
all hairdressers are cheapWhat Hairdressers are cheap and good?
    u get what u u pay for.....
    how about do yourself?!?
I always go to the local (reputable) beauty school. Supercuts costs like $16 for a haircut. My beauty school costs only $8.50. What a deal.

Plus, they do a good job because they have supervisors who watch their every move and make sure they do a good job. Plus, they are usually really good with a contemporary look because it's their job to stay up-to-date. Or go to a salon near a college. They are always cheaper because they cater to poor students.
super cuts is very cheap and they cut the hair well
I don't know specifically about your area but usually you get what you pay for when it comes to haircuts. I live in a small town and tried for a few years to find a good hairdresser here. I couldn't so I drive to a bigger city and pay more to get my hair done at a nice salon. It is so worth it to me though! I mean people see your hair everyday so why not pay more and be happy? But also you could ask people you see around town where they go, if their hair looks good.
I don't know about Indianapolis but when I can't go to my ';hairdresser'; (the one that does all the ';drastic';/big changes because I really trust her) I go to Fantastic Sams. I have gone there countless times and never really had any problems.

Check out the link to see where some are in Indianapolis and good luck with the haircut(s)!

Well there are only a few African braiding salons, but not many. Some hairdresser offer extensions, but I think its mostly the glue in's. Also I have seen a salon doing sew in wefts. They most are in Sydney and Melbourne. I would be interested to see what you have on offer when you get it up and running.

very hardHairdressers and people with dying knowledge?
Its not that hard, just dye it back to brown. Bleach it beforehand, but that can kill your hair.
you will more then likley need a salon to do a corrective color which can be very costly

How much does it cost to rent a chair in a hairdressers in londonderry/derry?

this will vary from salon to salon. also depending on weather of not you will supply your own colours etc.

i would charge 拢250 a week with everything included but that is just my charge.

best thing to do is ring up a few salons and enquire as everyone has their own price. with remember is negotiable.

  • Do i have to book ear piercings in advance in my hairdressers?

i have a hair appointment tomorrow at my hairdressers i always go to... will i have to book in advance to get piercings in my ears or will i be allowed just to ask on the day?Do i have to book ear piercings in advance in my hairdressers?
as a person who has had more that 20 piercings in there life i beg you to not go to claires or a hairdresser. go to a doctor or a licenced pro piercer. claires is not sanitary. peaple have been reported as getting cauliflower ear and hep. its not cleaned properly so there can still be blood splattered on the gun meaning ur puttin urself at risk of gettin getting aids. pretty scary!Do i have to book ear piercings in advance in my hairdressers?
Please don't go to an untrained hairdresser to get your piercings. It's incredibly unsanitary and you're at a high risk of infection from the uncleaned gun. On top of that, it's forcing a blunt stud through your flesh with huge force - it's extremely traumatic. Your piercings won't be even, it's very, very difficult to line them up with a gun so you will have lopsided ear piercings. You're at a much higher risk of bloodborne infections including hepatitis and even HIV.

Go to a professional, get it done properly with a needle and a trained piercer - even ignoring everything I've just said, it'll hurt a hell of a lot less.
    No,

when i got my ears pierced me and my mum just walked into the shop and asked.

It was fine, but if you are worried, and its a very very popular place, then i suppose you could?
Just go to Claires-they pierce for free and walk ins are welcome. They are also safe and have nice studs to choose from.

Why do we tell hairdressers it looks great, when we hate it?

We have our hair done, and they do it their way, they never listen when we say ';just trim the ends'; then they cut 3 inches off.

They set or blow dry it how they like, we hate it, but most of us say ';thanks that's great'; then go home and wash it and style it ourselves? Do we think we'll hurt their feelings if we tell them how awful it is? Do we care if we hurt their feelings if we don't know them? Funny huh?Why do we tell hairdressers it looks great, when we hate it?
I know! Me too. I guess if we say 'I don't like it' they'll go at it again and just f**k it up further! I just never go back. The eternal quest for the perfect hairdresser! Why do we tell hairdressers it looks great, when we hate it?
I think most people are just set in their own ways. I do the same thing though. Whenever I go to the hair salon my hair stylist always gives my hair way to much body... where I kinda feel like I just walked out of the 80's. When in reality I am just judging myself a little to harshly.

Everyday I do the same thing to my hair. It usually always looks the same... So when you go to a hair salon they do something new something that you aren't used to seeing on yourself. Maybe it looks really good to the hairstylist and everyone else... it just takes some getting used to.

But its your hair. Put your foot down and stop them before they trim those 3 inches off. If they style it the wrong way ask to see the hair straightener or whatever you use on your hair. That is what I have learned to do. If I cant walk out in public with it I will simply tell my stylist.... I love it but let me make a couple adjustments.

sorry this is kinda long but there are a few ways to look at a situation like this. =]
I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings yeah because I know my hairdresser and she is lovely and she is always friendly to me. I care if I hurt her feelings because I have seen how much effort she puts in. I still wouldn't tell a hairdresser I don't know because i think it is rude and you would be telling them how to run their job. I wouldn't like it if a customer complained to me if I was a hairdresser. x
I know! I told them I wanted big waves, but what did she do, grab the tiniest curling iron and gave me these nasty CURLS. It looked SOO bad on me, it was hard to hold back the tears. Not to mention her job was done very choppy and uneven.

I HATE going to the salon because alot of people can't cut hair for ****.
I guess it's because wether we like it or not, what's done is done and unless all our hair falls out over night (which isn't really likely to happen, right?), it'll always groen back over time.

Also I think... wether we say we like it or not, there's not much they can then do about it. We're still likely to be made to pay... even id a deduction is included xD
    Manners definitely.

Because we don't really wanna know when we screw up so we don't want to tell them.

    P.s.

If you only want the ends trimmed tell them to ';dust'; your hair. Trimming means cut off enough to tell that it was cut.
The same way we go, ';Yes thank you';, when asked if everything is alright with a meal in a restaurant. Even if it's total and utter crap.

    Or maybe that's just me....!
i do that and i have no idea why. i think maybe its because they still have scissors in their hand and i dont want them to get mad? lol
    LOL- I do that

I guess to be nice and also once hes/she cut it i suppose you can't uncut it.

Good question- you get a star
I know, how annoying is it. I wish I could say it like it is but accept that I'll never have the guts to do it!!
Pah, manners, I have too many and don't want to upset or question their profession lol
well darn well tell them u r not happy if they would cut that much off but as far as style they really dont know u so they usually do it there way at times u can get some terrific ideas have fun
Because its a nice thing to say
Yeah it's just out of manners I think lol
so that they wont make you look like a freak the next time you come in. haha

    just so they feel better and then we get out and go ';oh what have they done?';
