Why do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?

more ppl believe that its better for ur hair to be wet when ur cutting them.

i've been cutting m own hair for 3 years now

and when i cut them i just wet my brush. so they will be easier to cut, but its not all wet.

whats ur opinion?

and any hair cutting tips will b appreciated :DWhy do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?
Wet hair is easier to handle than dry hair. Dry hair is harder to hold in position, it slips away to easily. Just remember to cut it a little longer than where you want it when it is wet because wet hair stretches out longer and will shrink up a little when dry.Why do hairdressers cut your hair when its wet?
When the hair is wet the hair sticks together during cutting and falls more smoothly than when it is dry. Water weighs the hair down and makes it a little easier to cut more evenly.
because when you've got wet hair it goes to your natural length. if you have curly hair then when you wet it will go to natural length. its difficult to explain! lol :) x
i think it's because when it's wet it all sits at the same length so that it's straight
