What is the name of the smooth, plastic hair rollers that hairdressers have so hair comes out tight spirals??

And what do they actually look like?? instead of using velcro rollers which someone said would tangle up my hair. What is the name of the smooth, plastic hair rollers that hairdressers have so hair comes out tight spirals??
Perm rods. You can get them at Sally Beauty supply. They are cylindrical, with wide ends and a tapered middle. They use a rubber cord to secure them to your hair. Very easy to use. What is the name of the smooth, plastic hair rollers that hairdressers have so hair comes out tight spirals??
They're called Magnetic Rollers. Like you said, they're smooth and they come in different sizes. They're used for roller sets, and in order for you to get spirals, you would roll the hair vertically as opposed to horizontally. Just use some type of setting lotion (I prefer to use the concentrated version so that I can make the set hard, medium or soft) and water (directions on the back of the product), while the hair is damp, spray setting lotion/water mix onto section that you are rolling, use the rollers in a vertical direction to wrap hair around roller and clip the roller in using double prong clips, sit under a dryer (time will vary depending on thickness of hair) and let it completely dry. Take the rollers out and you're done!
i think you mean molton brown type rollers, they are long and bendy. Take a look at this cool gadget my wife uses
